The Best Countertops for Kitchen Remodels
We get a lot of questions about countertop materials. People ask us, “What kind of countertop should I get?” So today we’d like to go over what your choices are if you’re looking at doing a kitchen or bathroom remodel.
There are four popular stones right now: marble, quartz, granite, and quartzite. These all make good countertops. Which one you choose depends on your needs.
1. Granite or quartz.
We typically recommend granite or quartz. Those two are going to be your most cost-efficient, they’re going to look beautiful, they’re durable, and they’re relatively easy to take care of.
2. Marble.
Marble is a wonderful material. It’s very beautiful. But there’s a lot of maintenance involved with taking care of and cleaning marble. It lasts a long time, though, and it’s a wonderful choice if you’re okay with the upkeep.
3. Quartzite.
Quartzite is exotic and beautiful and is a wonderful material to work with. It’s on the higher end in terms of price, but if it’s in your budget it’s a great option.
But most of the time when we go into a home, we recommend granite or quartz. We are more than happy to look at your kitchen or bathroom and talk to you about the advantages and disadvantages of the different materials so that you can make an educated decision. When you’re dealing with something like a kitchen remodel, this is something you want to last a long time. We want to help you make the best decision for your home, whether it’s for you to live in forever, or to make sure you’re going to get a really good resale value for your property.
We hope this gives you a starting point for figuring out what kind of countertop you might want to consider. When it’s time for you to remodel your kitchen or bathroom, give us a call and we can schedule a free consultation and estimate for you today!
