Change Order Guarantee For Remodeling

change order guarantee

In our last blog post and video, I told you that I was going to tell you how we can get your project done with a no change order guarantee.

This is huge! Most contractors do change orders, and we explained what those are in our last blog and video. We did many change orders ourselves. We didn’t do them on purpose, but sometimes that’s just how things work out.

An Example

Here’s an example. Let’s say you go to three strangers on the street and ask them to get groceries for you. What are the chances that these three different people are going to bring you the same thing? The chances are almost zero.

Let’s get more detailed. Let’s say you hand these three people a list, and tell them you want chicken, beef, shrimp, etc. Now you know that they will all bring you the same items, but what are the chances that they will all be at the same price? One of those people might go to Walmart, while another might go to Whole Foods.

When they bring you your items, you might be surprised. They might not bring you the brand or quality you wanted. They might not bring you the size you had in mind. The presentation might not be what you expected.

Why Change Orders Occur

This is why change orders happen because you have one expectation, but unless you are able to give a very detailed list of what you want, including item, store, presentation, quality, flavor, etc., you might not end up with exactly what you wanted. The more detailed your list is, the more likely it is that your shopper will bring you exactly what you want, and the only difference in price will be from how much each shopper charges you to bring it to you.

How We Eliminate Change Orders

How are we able to offer you a no-change order guarantee? We have a great new process that takes care of all these details and differences for you!

When we come out to give you an estimate we will give you a range of costs. We might tell you that your bathroom remodel will cost $25,000-$40,000, or your kitchen might cost from $20,000 to $25,000. When we draw this estimate up for you it will include a visit from our designer, and a rendering of the final project. Our designer will come out to your house, take all the measurements, and put together a computer drawing of your vision. Then she will take you to the showroom where you will get all the detail you need for each piece of your project—tile, cabinets, toilets, etc. This is the detailed list I mentioned earlier.

When we gather all these details upfront and show you a rendering like this, chances are greatly reduced that there will be any need for change orders! You are not going to find yourself walking into the middle of the project and saying, “Oh, I thought I was getting a different type of light” because we will have shown you exactly what kind of light we have planned for you.

We can show you examples of how our detailed renderings of projects end up looking in real life. They’re very close!

Your Next Step

If you want to avoid all the hassle of getting change orders and upgrades, give us a call! We will come to your house and give you a free estimate. Then we can discuss your budget and your potential within that budget. Then, if the numbers are right and you feel we are a good fit for your project, we will start making our detailed lists and rendering. And then we will make your house look like a million dollars!
