Fun Things to Do In McKinney TX
Everyone knows McKinney is an up-and-coming city. More and more people are moving to McKinney from California and other states because it’s so close to the metropolitan areas of Dallas and Plano where businesses are booming. When people move here one of the first things they do is look around to find fun things to do. There are lots of things to do in McKinney whether you’re single or have a family. Here are just a few of your options!
1. Town Lake Recreation Area.
This is one of McKinney’s most popular parks. One of McKinney’s taglines is “Unique by Nature” and you get tons of nature in this park! There are paddle boats for the lake and playground activities for the kids. There are many walking trails as well. It’s just a beautiful park! We recommend that you check this one out if you like the outdoors.
2. Downtown McKinney/McKinney Square.
Whether it’s a date night at London Winery or a family dinner at Spoons Cafe or just shopping, downtown McKinney has it all! You can even pick up a grass-fed, locally sourced steak at Local Yocal! It has just about everything to offer. McKinney Square also does a great job with holidays. They have Scare on the Square at Halloween, Home for the Holidays during the holidays, and all kinds of events and festivals throughout the year. It has a really neat, quaint small-town feel right in downtown McKinney, even though McKinney is a larger city.
3. Heard Museum.
If you’re into nature, science, and wildlife you’re going to love this! Many of their programs are geared towards kids but adults can enjoy them as well. There are all kinds of educational programs from animal presentations to birthday parties, canoe programs, field trips, etc. The list goes on and on!
Those are just three of the many attractions in the area. If you’re just moving here we hope that you enjoy McKinney and all its greatness! And if you need any help around the house, whether it’s remodeling or painting, we’d love to help you out with that as well!
