How Long Does It Take For Interior Painting?

That’s probably the question we get most often, when people call us for an estimate.

How long it takes really depends on several factors, including:

The size of your home
How much of the house we are painting
If we are also painting the ceilings
If we are painting woodwork

Entire house:

For a typical house that’s about 2000 square feet, we can usually do the whole house in about a week. That’s all the rooms, closets, everything! To do an entire 4000 square foot house might take us a couple of weeks.

Just part of the house:

Of course, if you only want us to paint part of the house, it will take less time. Sometimes people just want us to paint the main rooms and not the bedrooms; or, they just want the bedrooms done. In those cases it will take less time.

Sometimes people need us to just paint their main entry—the foyer, the entryway, maybe the kitchen, just the areas you can see from the front door. In that case we can often be finished in just a couple of days.

How we determine the length of time for your house:

We will be happy to come look at your house and give you an estimate. We will take measurements and look at the areas you want painted, and listen to your needs and requests. Then we can give you a good estimate of how long your particular job will take us to finish.
