One thing no one ever wants to see in their house is water damage.
How To Determine If You Have Water Damage
If you look up at your ceiling and see a spot that’s discolored and where the texture has changed, that’s water damage. That spot is a watermark, and the water can make the wall and ceiling get mush, and your wall texture can start to peel away in that spot.
What To Do First if You Have Water Damage
The first thing you want to do, of course, is to determine why you have water damage and get that problem fixed! But once that’s done, call us in to fix up the damage to your wall and ceiling.
How We Repair Water Damage
Here’s what we’ll do. We’ll peel away any loose texture on your wall, then we’ll prime the area. Why do we prime it? If you don’t prime over the water stain, it can show up again through any new paint! We’ll make sure that doesn’t happen! We’ll do any re-texturing that’s necessary. After all that we’ll apply two new coats of paint and make sure that it blends in with the rest of your wall perfectly.
On the ceiling, we’ll also prime, retexture and repaint, matching the paint you have on the ceiling. We will do all we can to blend it in perfectly, but if for some reason that doesn’t work we always have the option of repainting the entire ceiling. In fact, repainting the whole ceiling is often the ideal way to go, that way everything looks smooth and perfect.
Whatever you do, don’t wait! Get your water leak fixed as quickly as possible, then let us fix everything up so that you don’t have to look at an ugly stain on your wall and ceiling. We’ll be happy to come out and give you a free estimate, and our recommendations for what would be the best way to get your house looking fantastic again.
