We remodeled a house that had a beautiful wood banister. For this particular house, we decided to paint the banister the same color as the floor and the front door. This way the woodwork matches the colors and finishes of the home. After painting it we added a couple of coats of polyurethane, and the result is absolutely beautiful and absolutely perfect for this house!

Scraping Method

 

Whenever you have a color that you need to match to a hardwood like a floor, we can accomplish this in a couple of different ways. In this case, we scraped everything off to apply the right color, but we have other methods as well. It all depends on your needs and the needs of your particular home.
