Spring Maintenance Tips for Plano TX Homeowners

Let’s talk about spring maintenance!

We’ve officially changed to Daylight Savings Time, we have some longer days, and spring is really here. That means there are a few things homeowners need to take care of to keep their homes in top condition.

1. Air Conditioner Checks.

This is a great time to check the filters on your air conditioning unit. This is also the time to get an air conditioning tune-up because as you know, here in Texas it gets hot here in the summer. You definitely want to be proactive about maintaining your A/C unit.

2. Change Smoke Alarms.

This is also the time to check the batteries in your smoke alarms. It’s a great idea to check these every time the seasons change. If you have smoke detectors that are too high up for you to reach you may want to reach out to an electrician to do those for you. The last thing you want is for those to start beeping at 2 a.m.! (They never seem to beep at any other time, do they?)

3. Get Your Yard Ready.

Take a look at your yard. Is there anything you could be doing to get it ready for spring and summer? Do you need fertilizer? Do you need to get a landscaping company to come out and take care of weeds?

4. Update Your Exterior paint.

Take a look at the exterior paint on your home. If you notice any cracking, or if you have any wood panels that need some help—we can help with that!  Or, maybe you just want a fresh look this spring! Maybe your exterior paint is faded. We’d be happy to come out and give you a free estimate on exterior painting!

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining! (For now—this is Texas and you know that spring will bring rain, too.)

Happy Spring!
